Insurance FAQs in Michigan
Were you hit while driving?
You are responsible for filing a claim through YOUR insurance. Once you receive a police report, you can then go after the other party’s insurance to cover your deductible.
Was your vehicle hit while parked?
If you are lucky enough to get the other party’s insurance information, you will file a claim through THEIR insurance and it will be covered in full.
Will I have a deductible?
Talk to your insurance, as every plan and every accident is different. Generally, if you have a police report and are found not at fault for the accident, your deductible should be waived and/or taken care of by the other party’s insurance.
Will an accident affect my rates?
Talk to your insurance agent about this
Do I have rental coverage?
Talk to your insurance agent to see if it is on your policy. If not, we have free loaner vehicles we can put you in to accommodate you while your vehicle is in for repairs.
Will insurance write for all brand new parts?
Review your policy, as everyone is different. If your policy states that only OEM parts be used, then yes your vehicle will receive all new parts. If not, your insurance company can source used and aftermarket parts, if available.
*Please note that we will try and get a dealer to price match any used or aftermarket price in order to try and get you brand new parts.
What if my insurance company says I have to take it to one of their shops?
You can let them know that it is illegal for them to make you get your vehicle repaired at one of “their shops” - this is called steering.
They may try and tell you that things will not be covered by them under warranty, but do not worry. We offer a lifetime warranty on all repairs and paint, while parts generally have a 6-12 month warranty no matter who repairs the vehicle
Do we waive deductibles if the insurance company does not?
This is on a case by case basis, but yes we can help lower or cover the cost of your deductible. We will need an approved insurance estimate and to see your vehicle in person to determine how we can help lower/waive your deductible.
What is the differences between collision and comprehensive car insurance.
